English Grammar in Dangerous Hands #5

Watch out for children's tee-shirts this summer - they're full of surprises.
I don't know what to say about this first one - there is just so much going on.  The obvious comment would probably involve a two year-old, Flavor Flav look-alike smoking crack.

It should be, "Not defeated at someone." - duh.

"Motherhood is a hopeless endeavor." - a bit bleak for a toddler's shirt.

"A smil is good." - true enough.  There's nothing better than a good smil.  Wait a sec...  What's a, "smil?"  If that is slang for "butt plug"...  I still agree.

Nevermind the peace sign inserted cleverly into this heart - isn't "the worship of wealth and power" sort of Lucifer's department?

I don't know why, but I picture a forty year-old, homely, retarded man with four teeth and a comb-over reading this shirt.

Yep, lot's of good summer wear for Japanese children this year.  I'm so excited!  I can't wait to get out there and abduct some children.  Wait a sec...  I meant, "Not abduct some children."  Yeah, so it should read, "I can't wait for the summer so I can get out there and not abduct children."

  1. Love the shirts, they make great xmas gifts for folks back home.
JFYI, There are quite a few English teaching jobs in Tokyo now since the tsunami in March last year & mass exodus of foreigners including teachers. I normally get email alerts for ALT jobs on alttokyo.com & now getting several a day. Many employment opportunities.

  2. Hahah! This is hilarious. I can't wait to get to Japan and buy some crazy kids shirts for my nephew. He should be around 4 when I get there!

I wonder if some Japanese people who know English very well get embarrassed seeing those shirts in their shops.
